Welcome to Little Stevens Blues School!

Notodden Blues Festival has organized a band seminar for young people every summer since 1989.

That makes Notodden Blues Festival's Blues Seminar the most successful and longest-lived music initiative of its kind for this age group. Among previous participants, you can find successful artists such as Amund Maarud, Kid Andersen, Odd Nordstoga, Vegard Tveitan, etc.

Little Stevens Blues School is intended to be a gathering arena for young musicians within the rhythmic music genre. Bandcamp 1 takes care of the breadth, while Bandcamp 2 is pointed more towards a musician's career and goes deeper into the blues. NBF has a goal that the Little Stevens Blues School should be a melting pot for musical development for young talents, and everything from blues to soul, funk, rock, jazz, etc. is played here.

In the summer of 2015, Little Steven visited the festival for the first time and fell head over heels in love with the band seminar. He was so captivated that he wanted to be a part of it. The collaboration with Little Steven has led, among other things, to us being able to expand the offer to include two courses with different target groups. Band Camp 1 (ages 13 – 18) is based on the existing and well-tested model, while Band Camp 2 for slightly older young people aged 19 – 26, is an offer for advanced students and is aimed at a career as a musician.
